Legends Hall of Fame

Legends Class of 2011

In late 2010, the PBC announced the formation of the Legends Division of the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Hall of Fame. We are pleased to introduce to the basketball fans of Western PA the following individuals selected for the inaugural class of our Legends Division, Class of 2011.

Doug West

Altoona High School

HS accomplishment - MVP 1985 Roundball (PA)

College - Villanova

College/professional Achievements - All Big East selection, Honorable Mention All America, #2 pick NBA Minnesota Timberwolves 10 year NBA career, Assistant coach Villanova University.

 

Sam Clancy

Brashear High School

HS accomplishment - MVP 1977 Roundball (PA)

College - Pitt

College/professional Achievements - 1979 Pan Am Games Gold medal winner, All Eastern 8 performer, Honorable Mention All America, 3rd pick Phoenix Suns, 12-year NFL career, Administrator - Pitt.

 

Suzie McConnell-Serio-Seton

LaSalle High School

HS accomplishment - 1984 PIAA State Championship

College- Penn State

College/professional Achievements - 4 NCAA Tourney appearances, All time NCAA leader in assists, Women’s Naismith Award winner (players under 5’6), 2 time Olympian, Gold Medal in 1988, Bronze in 1992. Played and coached in WNBA. High School coach at Oakland Catholic winning 5 consecutive WPIAL championships. Named to Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008. Currently Head Women’s Coach-Duquesne University

 

BB Flenory

Valley High School

HS accomplishment- Member 1976 Roundball team. Parade All America

College- Duquesne University

College/professional Achievements - All Eastern 8 performer, Honorable Mention All America. Drafted by the Boston Celtics, where he was the final cut for the defending NBA Champions. played professionally for five seasons in Caracas, Venezuela, from 1980-85. He was the league's top scorer three straight years.

 

JR Holden

Wilkinsburg/Linsly High School

HS accomplishment-West Virginia All State 1993 and 1994

College- Bucknell

College/professional Achievements - 2 time all Patriot League Performer, Honorable Mention All America, Played professionally in Lativa, Belgium and Greece. 2 time Euro league MVP. Made a Russian citizen by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Participated in the 2008 Olympic games as a member of the Russian National Team. Currently holds dual citizenship in both Russia and the United States.
